Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat

Your tour begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s bustling economic hub. If time permits, you’ll visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the rare mosques open to non-Muslims and an architectural masterpiece. From there, you’ll head to Rabat, the country’s symbolic capital. In Rabat, highlights include the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Almohad-era Hassan Tower, reminiscent of Marrakech’s Koutoubia Mosque and Seville’s Giralda. Both cities, Casablanca and Rabat, are influenced by their proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, which you’ll feel throughout the day. Accommodation for the night will be in a charming riad in Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez

Day two takes you deep into Morocco’s past. After breakfast, you’ll travel from Rabat to Meknes, a city built for glory by Sultan Moulay Ismail during the late 17th century. Meknes boasts grand monuments and stories of the ruler’s iron-fisted reign. Next, visit the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis, Morocco’s most impressive archaeological site, showcasing mosaics and structures from the province of Mauritania Tingitana during Roman rule. In the afternoon, arrive in Fez, home to the country’s largest historic medina. You’ll have free time to explore before the guided tour scheduled for the following day. The night will be spent in a traditional riad in the heart of Fez. Day 3: Fez – The Cultural and Spiritual Heart of Morocco

Fez, the spiritual and cultural epicenter of Morocco, is an ancient political capital and a hub of craftsmanship and tradition. The day begins with breakfast at your charming riad, followed by a guided tour through the city’s historic medina, renowned as the largest and most vibrant in Morocco. Accompanied by a licensed guide, you’ll explore Fez’s most iconic landmarks, including: - The Bou Inania Madrasa: A stunning example of Moroccan architecture. - The Karaouine Mosque (viewed from the outside): An important Islamic center of learning. - Nejjarine Square: Known for its beautiful fountain and surrounding souks. Day 4: Fez – Ifrane National Park – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes

From refined culture to raw, untamed nature, day four promises an unforgettable journey southward into Morocco’s desert landscapes. After breakfast at your riad, you’ll depart for the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane, affectionately called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine charm. Here, you’ll soak in the mountain town’s unique atmosphere before continuing to Ifrane National Park. Known as the “Forest of Monkeys,” this reserve is home to cedar forests and the Barbary macaques, a playful and endearing species. Descending to the southern slopes of the Atlas, you’ll pass through the dramatic Ziz Valley, a lush oasis lined with date palms, before reaching **Erfoud*, famed for its fossils and mineral treasures. Finally, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. After enjoying this magical experience, you’ll have breakfast at the Berber camp before heading back to the village of Merzouga on camelback or by 4×4. Your first stop is Rissani, a charming town with a vibrant and authentic souk. Known as the cradle of the ruling Alaouite dynasty, the town is home to historical landmarks like the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the dynasty’s founder. Next, the journey takes you to the Todra Gorges, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs, perfect for climbers and nature enthusiasts. Here, you’ll have time to marvel at the spectacular rock formations and walk along the narrow pathways. Continuing along the Dades Valley, also known as the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, you’ll be surrounded by lush palm groves, rugged hills, and ancient fortresses. Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech

After breakfast, immerse yourself in Morocco’s fascinating history by visiting some of its most iconic fortresses. Begin with the Kasbah of Taourirt, an imposing adobe structure that once served as a palace for the Pasha of Marrakech. Just 20 kilometers away lies the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village renowned for its well-preserved architecture and stunning location. It has served as a filming location for numerous movies and series, such as Game of Thrones. Stroll through its narrow streets and imagine life here centuries ago. The journey continues through the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka Pass, as you traverse the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Telouet Kasbah, another historic fortress that was part of the Pasha’s network of palaces. Descending from the mountains, you’ll pass through picturesque valleys dotted with small villages. Depending on the season, you may witness snow-capped peaks or vibrant greenery. On the final day of your tour, enjoy breakfast at the riad before your scheduled transfer to Marrakech-Menara International Airport.
